Connecting Year 9 students across Victoria and the Asia-Pacific
The Global Youth Forum program is a virtual, three-session learning program for Year 9 students in Victorian schools. It connects students in Victoria with their peers across the Asia-Pacific to develop global citizenship, intercultural understanding, and leadership skills.
Identify local and global issues and determine the policies and systems which influence these
Strengthen awareness of their own biases and the biases of others and recognise that this awareness is needed to create cohesive communities
Identify and implement strategies to address differing views and behaviours, emphasising their impact on fostering social cohesion within both local and global communities.
Further Information:
The forums assist students in developing global competencies and are aligned with the Framework for Improving Student Outcomes (FISO 2.0) and the Victorian Curriculum (Civics and Citizenship, Geography, Design and Technologies and the Victorian Capabilities), including global citizenship, intercultural understanding, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Prior to the forum, teachers and students are provided with briefings and a comprehensive information pack with all activities and learning materials.
